What a great find. I saw him (the jarvis cocker) in Abbeydale Road Tescos a few years ago, he has a startled look about him and he was not a tall as i imagined hiem tobe in real life.
Hi Ange, Yes I enjoyed stumbling across this stencil (on Grinders Hill near the Showroom cinema if you are interested). I’ve no idea who painted it but it is a welcome addition to the other art and graffiti on this small passage way. I saw Pulp play once but have never bumped into Jarvis while out and about. I think he lives in France or at least he did for a while and I don’t think he’s lived n Sheffield for years so perhaps you caught him while he was visiting. It’s funny when you seen well known people out of context. I can’t help but do a double take when it happens.
Yes i think he must have been visiting, he has finished with his radio 6 show and Iggy pop has replaced him.. Sheffield has its famous people, have seen Phil Oakley once in his Landrover driving near Sheldon Road a few years back, plus not to mention Prince Nazim flooring it in around the Edge before he did some porridge…well definateley in context on that one. ! 🙂 Ange
