An awesome list indeed! Mind you, there’s no mention of Joseph Gales (father or son) which seems a bit strange, given their historical importance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Gales,_Sr. I suppose it’s because they weren’t actually born in the city.
they misssed out ebineezer elliot – he lived on blake grove road – a blue plaque house, but he was born in rotherham i suppose that does not count as sheffield awesome or does it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebenezer_Elliott
Its on Wiki so I guess if you wanted to you could add Ebenezer onto the list and if it is deemed contentious I’m sure someone else will edit it off again! 🙂
