Lovely find; these are the Brooke Bond ‘Butterflies Of The World’ tea cards from the sixties, rather than pre-war cigarette cards. You can see traces of the back print left in the glue where some have been removed. I’ve still got the album somewhere…
Thank you for your comment. Great information and I will amend the tags for this post to reflect that they are in fact Brooke Bond tea cards. I can see the giveaway banding at the top and bottom (or ends) of the cards. The picture was taken in an old derelict building in Sheffield and I guess someone had decorated their workspace or locker/rest room with these (perhaps the tea making area!). I’m impressed that you should still have the album! Best wishes, N.
